An Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE) is an online authorization for nationals of certain visa-required countries who already hold a valid U.S. visa. It allows short-term entry for tourism or business purposes only. Nationals of India and China do not need an AVE if they already have a valid U.S. visa; they can enter Argentina directly. However, entry under AVE or other visa-waiver programs does not allow switching to residency within Argentina.
