To apply for Argentine citizenship, foreigners must have two full years of continuous residence with a DNI (ID card), without leaving the country at all (365 days each year) during that time.
For regular residency, short trips are allowed. However, for citizenship, any exit from Argentina resets the two-year residency requirement.
