Argentinian Student Residency Overview

Requirements for Argentinian Student Residence

1.- Identity Card, Passport, or Nationality Certificate.

2.- Birth Certificate and the one related to the Civil Status of the people, according to the cause of filing invoked.

3.- Argentine Criminal Record Certificate issued by the National Registry of Recidivism or Federal Police (Only required for persons over 16 years of age). Incorporated into the Radex

4.- Certificate that conclusively certifies that there are no previous convictions or pending criminal proceedings, issued by the competent authorities of the countries where you have resided for a period of more than ONE (1) year, during the course of the last THREE (3) years, (Only required to over 16 years).

5.- Country entry stamp stamped on the travel document.

6.- Certificate of address or a bill of any public service in your name (ABL, electricity, water, or gas).

– Complete personal documentation.

Non-formal student:

– Complete personal documentation (only if the course lasts more than 6 months).

Partial Student:

– Complete personal documentation (only if the course lasts more than 6 months).

Intern:

Scholar:

Minors:

Any foreigner who is under eighteen (18) years of age, must have the authorization of one of their parents who must present themselves at the time of carrying out the procedure with a valid identity document and legalized birth certificate that proves the family relationship. If authorized for such purposes, it must be signed before the competent authority. In the event that the parents of the minor do not reside in the National Territory, the minor must have a designated guardian, who must prove legal residence in the country and demonstrate with the public instrument the appointment of guardian over the minor. Note: Educational institutions must be registered with this National Directorate and will provide proof of registration to the interested party detailing the type of study to be pursued.

– All documentation issued abroad must be legalized by the Argentine Consulate, located in the country issuing the document, or Apostilled, if the country had ratified the Hague Convention.

– The documentation issued by the consular representations in the national territory must have the legalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, except MERCOSUR.

– If it is in a foreign language, it must be translated into Spanish by a national public translator and legalized by the Association of Translators.

– All documentation must be original. The National Directorate of Migrations may request if it considers it necessary, additional documentation to the detailed one.

How to apply for Argentinian Student Residence

Study Visa for Argentina: Requirements and Process

A study visa for Argentina allows foreign nationals to pursue secondary, tertiary, university, or postgraduate education at accredited institutions within the country’s official education system. This visa is valid for up to two (2) years and must be obtained from the Consular Representation of Argentina corresponding to the applicant’s residence. Below is a detailed guide on eligibility, requirements, and application procedures.


Application Process

The visa application process is personal and must be conducted at the relevant Consular Representation. Follow these steps:

  1. Contact the Consulate: Schedule an appointment to submit the required documentation.
  2. Prepare Documentation: Gather all required documents and ensure they meet the specified guidelines.
  3. Consular Interview: Attend an in-person interview at the Consulate.

Required Documentation

To apply for the study visa, the following documents are mandatory:

1. Passport

  • Must be valid for at least six (6) months from the entry date.
  • Include at least two blank pages for visa stamps.
  • Alternatively, provide a document listed in Annex I of the AGREEMENT ON TRAVEL AND RETURN DOCUMENTS OF MERCOSUR PARTY STATES (DC-46-2015-CMC).

2. Photographs

  • Two (2) recent 4×4 cm color photographs with a white background.

3. Visa Application Form

  • Completed and signed FSV application form (preferably electronic).

4. Educational Details

  • Copy of the study syllabus.
  • Pre-loaded electronic data submitted by the educational institution to the National Directorate of Migration.
  • Educational institution’s National Registry of Foreign Applicants (RENURE) number.

5. Proof of Financial Means

  • Bank statements, credit card statements, or other financial documentation showing the ability to cover tuition and living expenses.

6. Residence Proof

  • Utility bill or other documentation showing residence within the consulate’s jurisdiction.

7. Parental Authorization (for minors)

  • Authorization from both parents.
  • Name and details of the responsible guardian in Argentina.

8. Criminal Records and Declarations (for applicants over 16 years old):

  • Criminal record certificate: Certified and/or legalized document from the countries where the applicant has resided for more than one year in the past three years.
  • Sworn declaration: Affirmation of no criminal record in other countries, signed before the consul.

9. Fees

  • Consular fee: $250 (USD or Euros, depending on the Consulate’s local currency).

    • $300 for MERCOSUR citizens.
