Study Spanish and Fast-Track Your Path to Argentine Citizenship

While studying Spanish for one year, you will legally stay under transitional status. However, after completing one year of Spanish language courses, you will be eligible to apply for private or public education in Argentina and obtain your temporary residency. As a result, your one year of Spanish courses will count towards the two years required for citizenship. After one additional year of Argentina Study Visa following the Spanish courses, you will be eligible to apply for citizenship, eventually paving the way for permanent residency and a DNI.

Important Information for Eligibility

This Spanish course program will work only for singles; married individuals with children are not eligible. Couples can apply as long as both partners are enrolled in the school. The reason for this is that the visa is considered a transitory stay and will not apply to family members. Each family member must apply individually for their residency.

For those considering Argentina nationality, Argentina passport, it’s important to note that this program offers a legal pathway to stay in Argentina, but it won’t facilitate a direct application for a DNI (National Identity Document) for family members.

Your stay in Argentina will be 100 % legal, but you will not be able to get an ID card DNI with this program. Here is the link to the official information about all types of transitional residencies

Understanding Residency and Citizenship in Argentina

In Argentina, residency and citizenship are processed by two different authorities. Residency is handled by Migraciones, the Immigration Department, while citizenship is processed at the Civil Court. If you stay in Argentina with the documents provided by a Spanish language program, you will be eligible to apply for Argentina citizenship after two years. However, you won’t be able to obtain a residency card (DNI) directly through this program before you receive citizenship. Once you receive your Argentina passport or Argentina nationality, you can apply for permanent residency based on your citizenship.

Benefits of Spanish Language Programs

By enrolling in Spanish language programs, you gain valuable language skills and pave the way for residency in Argentina after your citizenship is approved. With Spanish courses, you’ll receive top-notch instruction in a welcoming and flexible environment, making your transition to life in Buenos Aires seamless and enjoyable. This approach is particularly appealing to those interested in moving to Argentina and exploring Argentina’s immigration options, especially for individuals seeking to understand the best country to stay in as a digital nomad.

Educational Opportunities in Argentina

Moreover, the educational experience in Argentina offers unique opportunities, whether through public or private universities.  After one year of Spanish courses in Buenos Aires, you can apply for career education. This formal education will lay the path for your official temporary residency, which will grant you a DNI (National Identity Document). With this DNI, you will be able to open a bank account and do almost everything that an Argentina citizen can do.

Students with a Spanish language visa are not legally allowed to work full-time. If you find an official job and want to work legally on a full-time basis, you will need to inform the authorities and request a change in your residency status from a student visa to a work permit. This is a straightforward process. However, if your primary purpose is to study Spanish, you must fully commit to your classes and dedicate yourself to learning the language seriously.

First of all, I would like to clarify that with any of our courses you can obtain the electronic registration certificate to process your residency.
That said, our courses are approved by the Faculty Board of Trustees for six months. This means that we can offer you courses until July (mainly due to changes in fees). From August to December the offer is renewed.
