FOREIGNER REGULARIZATION IN ARGENTINA THROUGH INVESTMENT

    WHY INVEST IN ARGENTINA?

Argentina offers a dynamic and promising investment environment, with a diversified economy rich in natural resources. The country stands out in key sectors such as Agronomy, Energy, Mining, Health, Technology and Tourism. Furthermore, the recent implementation of the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) provides significant tax and customs benefits, as well as legal stability for large-scale projects.

    Key Points

    – Argentina offers attractive avenues for obtaining citizenship through investment, providing access to a second passport.

    – Argentina allows families (parents, children, and grandparents) to join the investment program.

Foreign citizens benefit from visa-free travel to approximately 67 countries.

    RESIDENCE BY INVESTMENT:

This permit is aimed at individuals who contribute to the Argentine economy through investments in productive, service, or commercial activities of interest to the country. The minimum required investment is 5 million Argentine pesos, equivalent to approximately USD 3,800, THIS requirement is by law, it has not been updated and is not applicable, we consider a minimum of USD 30,000 and a maximum of USD 60,000 to be required. In this particular case, the foreigner must reside in Argentina and there would be no established limit; it is only a suggestion from the team.

    CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT:

Argentina’s upcoming Citizenship by Investment program is designed to attract high-net-worth individuals through productive and impactful investments. Instead of passive donations or real estate purchases, the program seeks to channel funds into sectors that contribute to national growth, innovation, and job creation. The minimum amount would be half a million dollars (USD 500,000.00).

Whoever enters this subcategory must prove to the National Directorate of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones) the origin of the funds and their entry into the country, through banking or financial institutions authorized by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA). Likewise, they must prove that the amount of income received is sufficient to cover their maintenance and that of their primary family group. For the purpose of granting residency, the provisions of Law No. 25.246 on Concealment and Laundering of Assets of Criminal Origin must be taken into account.

    Legal Framework:

In accordance with Migration Law N° 25.871 and the requirements established by the Ministry of Economy of the Nation within the scope of the Investment Citizenship Programs Agency (DNU 366/2025, not yet regulated), the available services for obtaining Argentine citizenship under the modalities of relevant investor or by 2 years of residency, and the requirements for residency by investment, are detailed.
